Ram is a truck and commercial vehicle division of Stellantis, formerly part of Chrysler. The brand was established in 2009 to boost awareness of the company's trucks. The Ram name was first used in 1981 on redesigned Dodge pickup trucks. The Ram lineup includes full-size pickups, such as the Ram 1500, as well as heavy-duty models, like the Ram 2500 and 3500. The ProMaster and ProMaster City vans have also been introduced to the lineup to give Ram a bigger presence in the commercial market. The Ram 1500 was introduced in 2009 with a unique coil-spring rear suspension that offered a more refined ride than its rivals. Ram trucks have come a long way since the 1994 redesign that gave them a boost in popularity with their aggressive styling and features such as the Quad Cab, which was designed to accommodate families. The Ram brand also includes the midsize Dakota pickup and the Ram C/V, which is based on the Dodge Grand Caravan.
