Mercedes-AMG GT R has been terminated for the U.S.

Mercedes AMG GT R is the hottest car with impressive variants, and it is purely loved by the people. Now, the scenario has been changed, When the black series, supplant of GT R  came into the market it took all the attention of people and capture the tag of the hottest car in the GT family. This is the reason the company has planned to discontinue Mercedes-AMG GT R in America after the 2021 model year.  

The GT R model that is going to end is the “Beast from the Green Hell”. The bookings for the 2021 model-year GT R is closing forever on 29 December, and the existing orders are not being transferred to 2022. Now, Mercedes will focus on the new flagship GT Black series, which breaks the new record of the fastest production car. 

The GT Black Series, the new flagship of Mercedes-AMG’s GT range, is going to put its appearance in early 2021. Black series offers a flat-plane crankshaft 4.0L twin-turbo V8 that generates 720hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. This car also offers a top speed of 202 mph.

The AMG GT R which is going to be discontinued was not that cheap and affordable, it will cost you around $160,000 while the black series will cost more than that, the cost of the Black series is around $325,000 in the U.S. The price of the Black Series is comparable with the price of Lamborghini, McLaren, and Ferrari. 

The new AMG GT lineup will also offer a revised base model that has 54 more hp than before. This fastest production car clocks about 1.3 seconds faster than the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ (the closest rival) in Nurburgring. For the time being, the other AMG GT lineup has been put on hold, although, we are expecting extensive changes in the upcoming years.
