Hyundai boost for electric car in the triumph of Tesla

Hyundai boost for electric car in the triumph of Tesla

Hyundai, an early booster of hydrogen cars is thinking of moving towards electric cars. as Hyundai has seen the success of Tesla, Tesla covers the stage for the battery electric vehicle market. This suggestion came from the electric rise of Tesla in the US market. Hyundai has already joined the battle of electric cars with Tesla by selling Hyundai Kona EV, and they have started the production for more. previously hydrogen cars launched by Hyundai gained lots of popularity but the situation is not the same now, electric cars dominate the hydrogen cars in the market.  This Korean company intends to launch two production lines of electric cars (EVs), one is for next year and another will launch in 2024. This is a new step for Hyundai motors. Now let’s see if they compete with Tesla or not.

Hyundai motors executive vice-chairman Euisun Chung has already introduced the idea of expanding into electric cars and he also announced the brands which are included like KIA and Hyundai and they are going to invest around $87 billion to build 23 EVs by 2025.

Why this competition?

Hyundai is already started competing for one step ahead from Tesla in the market for the expansion of electric capacity, if we look at the selling numbers of both then Hyundai sold 86,434 battery EV last year and Tesla sold 367,500 in the same year. But now one question is raised that why it took so long for Hyundai to compete with Tesla in case of EV?

One reason we have the Tesla Model 3. Tesla Model 3 was announced in 2017, Tesla always constructs luxury cars but Tesla model 3 became number one in selling electric vehicle.  and then it became the talk of the town. And it became a strategic victory for Tesla. Hyundai never expected that Tesla will beat the EV market so quickly before that Hyundai motor was not worried when this silicon valley company was producing high-end-cars. No folklore automaker company present in the market yet who can beat Tesla or you can say compete with Tesla, which keeps back a verge in battery and updated software technology.

If we see Hyundai’s achievement then Hyundai motors along with Kia motors is ranked number 4 in the world’s most honored companies under the motor vehicles section of CNN, after BMW, Volkswagen IN 2011. Hyundai continues to invest in its American operations as its cars grow in popularity. Said its celerity permitted it to take the charge into EVs. “ We are certain Hyundai is never going to fall behind,” it added.

Tesla Model 3 VS Hyundai Kona electric

hyundai-vs-tesla

Hyundai launched the Hyundai Kona electric to compete with Tesla Model 3 in the market, we have the list of comparisons, read on to find out Tesla got the competition or not?

Price

Tesla Model 3 starts at $36,200 before the $3,750 tax credit ( which drops to $1875 on July 1) if we go for top model 3s skyrocket to more than $60,000.

While Kona Electric starts at $37,995 before a federal tax credit of $7,500 of $36,450.

Charging

The advantage of electric vehicles that it is the most convenient to charge an electric vehicle at home. If we talk about Hyundai Kona then using a 100-KW DC fast charger, you can charge the Kona up to 80 percent in 54 minutes. The leaf plus can quick charge to 80 percent in 45 minutes with a 100KW DC charger. And Bolt can replenish 90 miles of range in about 30 minutes.

Tesla’s V2 supercharger stations can replenish 150 miles of range per 30 minutes. Tesla’s V3 supercharging tech, which is still in beta testing guarantees a peak rate of up to 250KW. This point can become a drawback for Hyundai Kona in long-distance and cross-country driving.

Range

Range anxiety is natural and real for any car buyer, both cars are good at it. Hyundai’s competitors are EPA -rated to travel 258 miles on a single charge, this rating is more advance than Bolt and the Leaf Plus. The bolt is available with 238 miles of range, and a more basic version of Leaf Plus offers 226 miles while better- equipped version gives 215 miles.

And if we choose a more expensive version of the Tesla Model 3 than it will give you 310 miles of range. And basic model offers up to 220 miles and standard range plus gives you 240 miles.

Interior capacity

The Hyundai Kona swank a passenger volume of 94.1 cubic feet, but the Tesla offers the interior space at 97 cubic feet.

This is a difficult choice, while Tesla Model 3 takes all the praises for styling, performance, and driving feel but it is also tough to ignore the value of Hyundai Kona electric. In the case of the superiority Tesla model, 3 is doing a great job in this comparison but we can’t ignore the Hyundai Kona electric because if you need a longer-range electric crossover than this is the best choice.
