I purchased a brand new Honda Accord hybrid sport. I picked up the car on the 6th January at an additional cost of $550 because they did not have this trim in stock. I would have expected it to be in brand new perfect condition. We picked it up at 5:45pm, followed the instructions at the dealership, getting in to set up the car following their protocol. I made the mistake of not walking around the car myself. Huge mistake, never trust a dealership.I came to find out they had received it at 12:30 that day ran the inspection but missed the fact the right passenger wheel was scratched up. Tires were perfect, no scuff marks as you would expect to see from the damage to the rim so I’m led to believe they did know about it but replaced the tire and left the damaged rim on. I contact the dealership I was reassured the issue would be fixed a couple of days later I reached out again and got sent a email to schedule my own time to bring in the car to be corrected. No availability for over a month. So today a month later I bring in the car and the service department had no idea what the issue was. The person they have fix wheel scratches doesn’t work on the day i had originally scheduled as I was unaware he had set days and they hired the work out. I wasn’t told this or notified how best to correct the issue in a timely manner. Wasting my time and gas and I still have to come back in another two weeks for the rim to get corrected. Unhappy with my experience is an understatement. Frustrated to have bought a new car only to receive it damaged and be kept waiting for it to be put right. I’ll not be coming back to buy another car from this Honda dealership

Sunsets service department performs customer service fairly well. They are friendly and attentive but the reason why it’s only a 3 star review is that it took them 1 1/2 hours to perform an oil change and tire rotation. When I got there, I was told it would take about an hour. I was shocked since I had an appointment set up but I couldn’t not get my car serviced, I was already there….then it ended up taking 30 minutes longer than quoted which made me late for work….there’s gotta be a better system for people who want to get simple things like oil changes…I go to a Honda dealership for all of my service needs to establish clear records for when I sell my vehicle…



The service person I dealt with was very sweet and did her job well. She treated me with respect, and was honest and humble in regards to my repairs. Kudos to her, because my past experiences (sales team) have been horrible. Although I brought my car in for Warranty, I had other issues that needed to be looked at. I got billed for $306 for the mechanic to look at both issues. Nothing was repaired. Yes, Sunset Honda still sucks in my book, with the only exception of the nice lady that I had the pleasure of dealing with in the service department.

My wife and I were on a vacation trip traveling through several states. We has to stop in San Luis Obispo for an oil change. The people who did the oil change told us that the cap to our brake fluid reservoir needed to be replaced because it was cracked but they could not do the work because they didn't have the part. Of course, being on the road several states away from home, this was disconcerting news. Since it was late in the day we could not take additional steps to fix the issue. The next morning we called Sunset Honda and spoke to Josh in the parts department. He was very helpful, said they had the part in stock and set it aside for us. When we arrived, Jeff, the service manager met with us, had a mechanic check the cap. Leopoldo checked and said he didn't think there was a problem with the cap. Jeff then had Alex, the head mechanic check and he confirmed what Leopoldo said. So, all their efforts led to loss of a part sale for them but great peace of mind for my wife and I. This is what I call superior customer service. I appreciate the professional, customer focused assistance offered to us by the service department at Sunset Honda! Thank you so much!
